This training provides an overview of applying CBT to improve preventative health behaviours e.g. smoking cessation, obesity, exercise, dietary change. The training focuses on understanding the evidence base for applying CBT inconjunction with Health Behaviour Change (HBC) Models to maximise health outcomes and improve readines to change. A significant practical component offers an opportunity to learn key CBT skills relevant to HBC.

This 3 hour online CPD training course gives you all the fundamental information you need to know about conducting Health Psychology consultancy in applied real world practice. The course covers developing a client 'pitch', and its process, contract negotiations and legalities and client relationship management challenges. It discusses differences between research and consultancy skills and their application and the broader psychological competences that are applicable to consultancy practice. Useful references and links are provided for further reading.
Key therapeutic skills for working individually with clients is the focus of this training. Content includes gaining personal awareness, learning the process of therapy sessions, using key communication skills (e.g. questioning techniques) and skills to form a therapeutic alliance. The training provides a valuable basis for attending our training for learning specific therapeutic approaches (e.g CBT).
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based therapy that has been applied to physical health management. This training provides an overview of the basic CBT mode and evidence base applied to physical health conditions, core CBT content and process skills to deliver CBT-Health Psychology assessments and uniquely how to combine and apply the Self-Regulatory Model of Illness with CBT assessment and formulation.
This training provides an overview of applying CBT to long term condition management. The course focuses on a patient case study, using the CBT model to assess and treat her adjustment to her newly diagnosed conditions, support her to manage symptoms and treatment and to formulate on CBT based techniques and interventions that are most appropriate for long-term condition self-management. The course is interactive, skills based and involves client role playing.

Motivational interviewing (MI) has been effective in supporting behaviour change e.g. smoking cessation, substance misuse, weight management. This training provides an overview of the MI model and ethos, key skills, techniques and interventions and provides a practical learning opportunity to develop a manualised approach to undertaking MI practice.
