My background is working as a Consultant Lead Health Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in NHS hospital physical health services and managing services for over ten years (previously Head of Psychology, Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust). I have extensive experience of managing and delivering clinical services for individuals and families living with long-term conditions in hospital care including cardiac and respiratory  illness, cancers and organ transplantation. I have also worked in the UK private healthcare sector designing         e/m-health adherence and lifestyle management patient support programs for the pharmaceutical industry and NHS. My background is working in Public Health and general preventative health as a Consultant Health Psychologist working in and with NHS organisations, primary care providers, local authority, education and third sector organisations (previously Public Health Lead for NHS Camden). This has included developing new services, reviewing and re-configuring services. I have a particular expertise in working in community settings and with individuals and groups to make and sustain health behaviour change. I have worked as both a provider and strategic commissioner of public health services. I was the first Practitioner Chair in 2015 of the British Psychological Society Division of Health Psychology. I am a BPS National Assessor and a HCPC Partner.

Our Experience: We are Registered Practitioner Health Psychologists with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) the UK Government Regulatory Body for Applied Psychologists, and are Chartered Psychologists and Associate Fellows with the British Psychological Society (BPS). Our backgrounds include working clinically with individuals and groups, commissioning, reviewing & developing services. Our research is published in UK & international journals and we contribute to clinical handbooks, training manuals & international research studies. We provide applied skills training training for a number of UK postgraduate university Health Psychology courses and personally supervise postgraduate students.

National Roles: We worked together from 2004-2010 in the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Health Psychology (DHP) National Executive Committee. During this time we led on the development of applied Health Psychology Services in the UK including the Job Profiles for Health Psychologists within the NHS Agenda for Change Programme, the Department of Health's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Programme competences , New Ways of Working in Applied Psychology Working Party and the commissioning and funding of health psychology services with the Workforce Development Confederations. Together we have advised and worked with many government and national health policy, commissioning and training centres. Sasha was also the first Applied Practitioner Health Psychologist Chair of the DHP in 2017.

As individual Health Psychologists we have differing experience and skills that include primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare sectors, public health and community care. However, we also have considerable shared skills, which we bring together into SCCH Consulting.  In particular we are experts in training and supervising health and social care professionals, delivering on health psychology consultancy projects and working therapeutically with individual clients and groups.  Together we have been pioneers in the application of health psychology as a profession into everyday healthcare practice.
